How the palette matcher works

1. Drop or pick a surface

Upload a screenshot of the wall or floor you’ll hide on, choose a built-in map surface, or pick a single color.

2. Get a layered paint plan

We extract the palette and order it the way strong players paint: base tone, shadow, noise, highlight, then a risky accent.

3. Match it in-game

Copy each hex and sample the same tones with the in-game eyedropper on the exact surface and lighting.

What makes Meccha Chameleon different

Paint, don’t pick

Instead of snapping to a preset prop, you paint your body freehand to match any surface — blending is a real skill with infinite gradients.

Read the room

Seekers win by spotting outlines, lighting mistakes, wrong colors and the flicker of movement. Stillness and shape matter as much as hue.

2–24 players

Private lobbies for friends or public matchmaking, with Classic, Infection and Speed Hunt modes for any group size.

Frequently asked

Is Meccha Chameleon on Switch, PS5, Xbox, or mobile?+

No. It is a Windows PC game on Steam only (Steam Deck Playable). There is no console or official mobile version, and no announced ports.

How much does Meccha Chameleon cost?+

It launched at $5.99 (about £5.29 / €6.15) with a 20% launch discount that ran until mid-June 2026.

Why does a flat color get me caught instantly?+

A single solid color is the #1 giveaway. Real surfaces have shadow and texture, so the tool always returns a layered plan — base plus shadow, noise and a highlight.

Can I play Meccha Chameleon free in the browser?+

No legitimate browser version exists, and there is no Roblox version. Sites claiming a free in-browser demo are unofficial — the only real way to play mecha chameleon is buying it on Steam.

Are there Meccha Chameleon cheats or mods?+

There are no built-in cheats or a mod menu, and using third-party cheats risks a ban. The legit way to change the game is Steam Workshop custom maps you can subscribe to.

When did Meccha Chameleon release, and does it have crossplay?+

It launched June 10, 2026 on Steam for Windows PC. There is no crossplay because every player is already on PC — no console or mobile versions exist.

Is it "meccha", "mecha", or "mecca" chameleon?+

The official Steam title is MECCHA CHAMELEON. "Mecha chameleon", "mecca chameleon" and "meccha cameleon" are all common misspellings of the same paint hide-and-seek game.

Can I play Meccha Chameleon online with friends?+

Yes — it is an online multiplayer game. Host a private lobby for friends or join public matchmaking (up to 24 players). See the full online & multiplayer guide.
